
April R. Alex, Staff Attorney
​
April is a Staff Attorney with The Community Tax Law Project. She is admitted to practice in North Carolina. April represents low-income taxpayers in disputes with the Internal Revenue Service. April received her B.A. Summa Cum Laude from the University of Houston, and her J.D. from the Duke University School of Law.
While at Duke Law, she served as a staff editor on the Law & Contemporary Problems journal and a research assistant with the Wilson Center for Science and Justice. She also volunteered at the Children's Law Clinic, where she worked to establish appropriate special education services for children with disabilities in
North Carolina, and with Wills for Heroes to draft estate planning documents for Durham County first responders. April is excited for the opportunity to continue to serve her community in her role with CTLP.
Outside of work, April enjoys sewing, knitting, hiking, and spending time with her two kitties, Artemis and Apollo.
